Trying Monotype

Bild
A while back  I discover a lovely class by Anna Sokolova on Skillshare called “The Art of Monotype” . I had never heard of this technique before, but was really excited by the looks of the thumbnail . So I watched it, and was SO EXCITED. Like look at this I’m aiming not to give away too much about the technique in this post, which might sound weird. But I really enjoyed Anna’s class, and I would urge you to watch that instead if you want to learn. I’m not going to undermine a fellow artist who has put so much work into a class by giving away the information for free!! But basics are that you paint on glass and then press the paper against the glass. I used the glass from a random frame that we had, so I didn’t have to get anything new for this technique! And well, turns out monotype is pretty hard. (Partly, I think, because I didn’t have quite the right paper.) I ended up covering the entire table I was working on with my attempts.  I...

My Mossery Sketchbook aka my one true love

Bild
It’s been a few weeks since I discovered  Leigh Ellexson now. I think I found her while just looking around at sketchbook tours and she showed up in my recommended videos. I absolutely fell in love with everything about her videos pretty much right away, and I recommend you all to go watch her sketchbook tour here . SO MANY CUTE CATS and pretty colours. Anyway, as she mentions in that video, the sketchbook she has finished is a Mossery mixed media sketchbook, and I was just like casually intrigued that time simply because it looked so prettyyyy. And then I watched her Mossery review and was like MY GOD I NEED ONE. Mossery is a sationery brand based in Kuala Lumpur, and they make planners, sketchbooks and notebooks from sustainable materials and it’s all just so freaking wholesome and beautiful. Here’s a link to Mossery’s website.  I kind of really wanted to buy a planner too, because they seem so nice, but I ended up only getting the sketchbook because ...

Monthly Makers Inredning / Welcome Home

Bild
S o, another month of Monthly Makers has passed (by the way – can you believe it’s been almost 3 years of Monthly Makers?!?!) and the theme this time is INREDNING. Nothing that came natural to me (it translates to interior design/decorations) but I actually had more ideas than I thought I would. I was going to create something completely different for this theme, I actually even got pretty far with that plan. It’s almost finished, but I wasn’t very happy and I was going to write a post about how it doesn’t have to be perfect every time. The important thing is to create, and that you enjoyed it! Which I did very much – I’ll tell you more about that technique and what I did some other time! It also just so happens that the host for the month – Emilia – wrote brilliantly about the importance of creating rather than excelling when it comes to this challenge, so just head on over to her post (in Swedish) and read what she had to s...

my creative life #12

Bild
Okay, it’s been a really long time since I made one of these, but I’m just gonna go ahead and pick it up where I left off. Well not exactly, I probs won’t show you EVERYTHING I’ve created since MAY (okay I just checked the date HAS IT BEEN THAT LONG OMG). As some of you may know, I’ve spend half the summer and start of the autumn being ill. Like proper ill. I had to go to the emergency room and everything. But I’m slowly getting better, and the energy I have I basically spend creating. FUN. (Wasn’t able to start uni again like I was supposed to though :'( ) I did update you on my new obsession with watercolours a while back, so I’m not going to talk about that again! Check that out here if you’re curious.  My favourite thing I’ve created lately is easily the “Rebecca” series. Mikaela’s friend Rebecca said she wished I made one called “Rebecca” that was “fluffy”. Haha. So I got to wo...
