So yeah! The cat’s out of the bag (hehehehe) – the theme for Monthly Makers this month is Animals . I thought I’d show you a few things I’ve made previously that are inspired by animals! A lot of it is pretty old so it’ll be a fun little throwback! I made antler brooches a few years ago! Still love these, although I currently have no idea where they are. 🙂 And then last year I found a dragon in a bonfire!!! The human species is a kind of animal, so portraits work too! Okay, prepare yourselves to be overwhelmed by the world of poetry and visual art.  While I was crushing on Noor Unnahar’s art before I started writing this, it’s nothing compared to what I feel after looking through her stuff to find my favourites. Alright, back to what I’ve been up to creatively! I’ve had a few weeks where I’ve been sick and tired of pixel sorting, but a few days ago I just got back into it! I missed the simple times that they represent, as I’m so used to that technique and feel so free when I’m creating them. So I went back to the old pixel sorter.  Took a look at one of my favourites –  Cloe  –  to see if I could recreate whatever it is I like so much about it. This is Rose . I’ve gotten the question “What inspires you?” a few times, and my answer has been something along the lines of “things I find on the internet” every time. This might be true, of course, but I wish I’d thought about it a little bit more. I wish I had taken it a step further and realised that “inspiration” can be so much more than pretty pictures on Pinterest. Leena Norms  made a really interesting video on the subject recently. She’s making 40 videos for lent, and number eleven was about inspiration. Which, as you may know, is my favourite topic. And my favourite topic being discussed by the ever so eloquent and inspiring Leena was obviously gonna get me thinking. In this video Leena talks about inspiration in a way that is new to me. Sure, do as the Romans – but also go see my stuff!! I’m part of an exhibition in Rome this week, and I just wanted to tell you all about it just in case one of you live in Rome! Here’s a link to the event if you want more information. It’s Errore Digitale at Monk Roma and is organised by Manifesto Delle Visioni Parallele. Lapalux will be performing his music live, and among the other artists is Giacomo Carmagnola who is actually the artist through which I found pixel sorting. ISN’T THAT COOL. I was super excited this weekend to try to take a spontaneous trip to Rome on Friday, and I haven’t really decided what I’m going to do. But I must admit it feels cool to have my name on an event picture like I was playing at a festival or something. There’ll be four printed images by me there! Time for some more creative life-updates! Not as a video like last time, though, but a regular old post. I know, the nostalgia is almost too intense to handle. Aaanyway, on to the creative lifelylife. One super exciting thing that has happened since last time is that the exhibition I’m part of had its opening!! This was like three weeks ago though haha. I didn’t bring my camera because it’s SO ANNOYING AND HEAVY but I took some pictures with my phone! These are the three images that I’m exhibiting!
