DIY Halloween Wreath
It’s the third Halloween Wednesday, and I’ve got another Halloween DIY for you! This one is kind of a combination of my two previous ones, but it’s a DIY Halloween Wreath. I really love it and it’s really easy to make even though it does take a while. But it looks great!
Materials:
- Twigs
- Wire
- Something to cut the wire with
- Black paint
- A brush
- Glue gun
- White paper
- Black paper
- A pen
(Yes, I forgot to take a picture of half of these things. Oops.)
Instructions:
Start by making a bendy twig into a large circle. Twist the ends around the twig to make it stay together.
Wrap wire around the circle to make it more sturdy and enable you to shape it a little. (My twig wasn’t bendy enough so it was hard to shape it, so start with a skinnier one.)
Then start gluing twigs to your base. This takes a while but just keep building.
Use both bigger and smaller twigs to give a messier look to the wreath, we don’t want it to be tidy and ordered. Make them go all over the place.
It should now look something like this. Crazy and big.Time to paint it black. This is probably easier with spray paint, but this works. It takes time – so much time – but it works. I didn’t want to buy spray paint because I’m lazy and didn’t have time. Hehe.
Time to start working on the decorations! I decided to make a bird and a moon. Make a raven or a crow or a spider (ew spiders) if you want. I just transferred this picture of a crow (I decided it’s a raven though) onto white paper from my computer screen because I was too tired to draw my own one. :)))))))) It works this way too hehe.
Cut out the white bird and use it as a template on your black paper. It’s hard (impossible) to transfer to black paper, so that’s why we’re doing this extra step.
And then you’ll have this. The feet look ridiculous but that won’t matter. And then use a glass on the white paper to make a circle and cut that out to make a moon.
Now you have some decorations!
Glue them to the wreath and you’re done!
Tadaa!
It’s really cheap and easy and you’ll have a very seasonally appropriate wreath for all your October needs! Perfect!
Me and Alicia will be posting Halloween DIY:s every Wednesday until Halloween. Check out her DIY Pumpkins here. So far she has made bats out of clay and Harry Potter-inspired decorations, and I’ve made and I made paper ravens and a fairy crown.
