Beata Rydén - photographic art from a world beyond our own

Speaking of Saga – the theme for the creative challenge Monthly Makers (read about how to be a part of it here) – I want to share with you one of my favourite artists. A photographic artist, to be more specific, who creates mysterious and magical images that are so out of this world and spectacular that I can’t believe it. It’s like they’re taken straight out of the most beautiful fairytale.

Here’s what it says about her on her website, and I think it sums it all up in a great way:
With the art of photography she aims to explore our inner worlds and psychological struggles. One topic that she tends to come back to is integrity and personal borders. Beata uses imagination as a powerful tool in her work.

golden twig necklace / monthly makers: wood

I’ve had such a hard time with this theme for Monthly Makers. It really didn’t suit me and the way my life is right now (which is pretty bad, tbh). My first plan was to weave something with twigs in it. And so I did. And it didn’t turn out great. In a weak moment I decided I’d make it a little bit different with some golden paint on the actual weaved bits, but like haha. Bad idea. It kinda just looked like someone had an uh… accident on it. Gj me. Great idea. Anyway, I went into the garden to get some new twigs and started working on my final result – a necklace made of golden twigs!  I made the lock part out of some wire that I made into a hook and a loop. And I used both wire and glue to make it stick together. And yeah, that’s it! Monthly Makers  is a challenge for anyone who wants to be more creative or create more.
