Pearl / Monthly Makers: Pearls

I had plans for this months theme for Monthly Makers. I had plans to make something using actual pearls. To make something different than the things I’ve created non-stop for the past few weeks. But the closer it got to me actually starting, the less I wanted to make it. And then I didn’t do it. And in the end it came down to not having enough time. So that was great! But I’ll just make what I planned some other time, because I still want to make it. So that’s why I’m not giving it away just yet!

But anyway, I have still created something for the theme! And it’s digital, and it’s pixel sorting, and I feel so predictable and hopeless but I’m still pretty happy with the result.
Here’s what I created:

They’re these rounded explosions of pixel sorting inspired my mother-of-pearl, shells and pearls.

I made them through making regular pixel sortings and then running them through a tiny planet-app (it’s called RollWorld and is kinda fun) in my phone, so it’s really easy actually! And fun! Yay!

golden twig necklace / monthly makers: wood

I’ve had such a hard time with this theme for Monthly Makers. It really didn’t suit me and the way my life is right now (which is pretty bad, tbh). My first plan was to weave something with twigs in it. And so I did. And it didn’t turn out great. In a weak moment I decided I’d make it a little bit different with some golden paint on the actual weaved bits, but like haha. Bad idea. It kinda just looked like someone had an uh… accident on it. Gj me. Great idea. Anyway, I went into the garden to get some new twigs and started working on my final result – a necklace made of golden twigs!  I made the lock part out of some wire that I made into a hook and a loop.
