the flower book II: sju romantiska berättelser

Bild
Two days ago I went to a birthday party(/advent party) for Alicia and Andreas! Super spectacular and I ate all the lussebullar. (Actually, I’m writing this before it even happened, so I’m just assuming I did that. I heard there were a lot of them last year.) I really wanted to bring them some kind of gift, but I was really struggling with coming up with what to give them. So anyway, I tried to come up with something I could create myself, and I don’t know but my digital stuff just didn’t feel right so I went back to basics and remade a Jessica Andersdotter classic – the flower book. ( Made the original one in 2013 .)  So here it is! The book I used is called “Sju romantiska berättelser” (Translation: Seven romantic stories) which is so cheesy but also kinda cute and it suits the cutest couple ever!!! Haha. I mostly picked it because it has such a beautiful pattern on the cover. I had all the materials at home, the flowers were ones I boug...

let's break up

Bild
As some of you know I like to hang out on this website called hitRECord! It’s a collaborative production company type of thing and you can read an entire post I wrote about it here . They’ve recently had challenges to create new stuff for the shop, and while I missed actually creating anything for it myself due to other stuff in life someone (more specifically Anita ) remixed one of my things and made this: And guess what? It’s now for sale as a print in the shop! You can buy it as a print here ! Here’s the actual record . The original is a remake of the scanned flowers I made for Monthly Makers Plants  and I layered them and changed the hue so it looked like this.  Anita actually made two more remixes of my scanned and altered flowers, and I just love them so much. They were all made as a part of the project “The Art of Breaking Up”, which is a project focusing on breaking up, hence the nature of the quotes added to these images.  I kinda want t...

ALL IS NOT GOLD / MONTHLY MAKERS: METAL

Bild
So! Time for another Monthly Makers-creation! This months theme is METAL and oh how I’ve struggled with coming up with something for this theme. It’s very material focused and as someone who mostly (only) works digitally at the moment it was hard to come up with anything! I was mostly focused on trying to create something with a metallic feel to it digitally, but turns out that’s reallyreally hard. So what I ended up doing was crinkle a piece of tin foil and take pictures of it, run it through my magical pixel sorter and then make it pink (because as you know, I’m obsessed with pink). So that’s what this is! It’s not my best work but it’s pretty cool, and it was fun to think of a new way of creating these abstract works! Monthly Makers  is a challenge for anyone who wants to be more creative or create more. During 2016 we’ll have twelve monthly challenges for you to be inspired by. For November the theme is Metal and Wilda  is t...

Embroidery house in Valencia

Bild
I actually forgot to show you my favourite piece of street art in my post about Valencia ! This embroidery house by Raquel Rodrigo. It’s at Placa de Lope de Vega and it’s actually quite small and looks a bit worn ( second picture here is of how bright the colours used to be ) but it’s sooooooo pretty anyway. I was very upset that a restaurant had put those ugly black things in front of half of it. Ruining my shot!!  I had actually seen pictures of these cross stitch houses on the internet before, and was super happy when I found out that one of them were in Valencia! So this was one of our goals that day. We also went to the old silk market which had some serious pillar action, but I’ll show you that some other time.

street art in valencia

So I went to Valencia, Spain again! It’s such a wonderful city and it was wonderful going there. Mostly because it was rainy and/or SNOWY at home and I was just chilling in summer dresses and sunglasses being cool af. I didn’t take LOADS of pictures, mostly I took pictures when we went to check out some of all the street art in the part of the city that’s called Carmen. Oh and the pictures above, which are from the street our apartment is at! (If you didn’t know my family recently bought an apartment in Valencia!) I love this street so much – and the apartment – and feel super at home in this place. At one end of the little street we live in is Mercadona = regular food store only they have AMAZING food because SPAIN. Honestly, the shrimps we’ve bought in that store. And also they have my favourite ice cream in the world (mint ice cream with chocolate chunks) and AMAZING caramellised popcorn which I never thought I would like but they’r...

artsy times

Bild
Things are happening. I’m so insanely focused on my art right now, and honestly it’s just so amazing. AND ALSO it’s paying off!! A page called Higher Perspective contacted me a while back and asked me if they could make a video based on my Bored Panda-post . And I was like HELL YEAH because they for realsies have 5 MILLION+ followers. So yeah, that happened. Almost 80 000 views as I’m writing this. Insane. And I’ve become obsessed with pink and purple. Like I’ve never really liked those colours, but making these abstract artworks has made me completely obsessed. Like pastel pink. <3 Opals. <3 Clouds. <3 I even made a Pinterest-board with my new ~aesthethic~ haha. I’m so basic.    And other than that I went to Valencia again for a week. It was amazing and like 24 C outside and then I came home and there’s basically a SNOWSTORM wth. But I’m not too mad about it as it got me super hyped about CHRISTMAS!!! I’m gonna ...
