Inspiration for Monthly Makers "Loppis"

The new theme for Monthly Makers was released a few days ago, and it really doesn’t translate that well into English because “flea market” sounds like such a weird theme haha. Maybe “thrifted” is a better word? Anyway, that’s kind of what it is. You can head on over to Stina to see the presentation.

I thought I’d put together a post with some inspiration on the theme! I’m thinking a lot about collages and stuff like that for this month, as I kind of just want to interpret in a way of reusing old things/things that were meant to be used for something else!

golden twig necklace / monthly makers: wood

I’ve had such a hard time with this theme for Monthly Makers. It really didn’t suit me and the way my life is right now (which is pretty bad, tbh). My first plan was to weave something with twigs in it. And so I did. And it didn’t turn out great. In a weak moment I decided I’d make it a little bit different with some golden paint on the actual weaved bits, but like haha. Bad idea. It kinda just looked like someone had an uh… accident on it. Gj me. Great idea. Anyway, I went into the garden to get some new twigs and started working on my final result – a necklace made of golden twigs!  I made the lock part out of some wire that I made into a hook and a loop. And I used both wire and glue to make it stick together. And yeah, that’s it! Monthly Makers  is a challenge for anyone who wants to be more creative or create more.
