Cinemagraphs

Bild
I had to make a music video for an assignment, and it kind of turned out alright but nothing really happens in it, so instead of sharing the entire thing I’ve converted it into gifs! Well I did some other editing too, but anyway, they’re kind of gifs from the video.   I haave a lot of experience with playing around with blending modes in Photoshop, but this was the first time I actually tried using it on video (there are blending modes for video in both Premiere and After Effects, just fyi). The silhouettes are just shots of me in front of my bedroom window. Easy peasy.

to finally start making videos

Bild
Hello friends! Seeing as many of my recent posts have been video based, you might have understood that I’ve been working a lot on expressing myself through video (more specifically Youtube) lately. The kind of obvious reason behind this happening right now is the fact that I’m actually taking a course which focuses on Youtube and video making, but that doesn’t mean that this is a new idea for me.  So if you want to keep up with my videos and use Youtube, it’d be lovely if you subscribed to me here.  My aim is to upload weekly from now on, and I’m planning on talking about creativity on a “deeper” level, sharing my own art and talk about life as an artist. So if you’re up for that,  I’m still struggling a little bit with it all, but that doesn’t make me love it any less. I enjoy learning something new and to develop my video skills in a similar way that my writing has developed from just writing on here for years. But I thin...

Monthly Makers Photography

Bild
So, the theme for Monthly Makers this month is Photography! A wonderful theme, which also meant I almost had TOO many ideas. So obviously I picked the idea which meant I interpreted “photography” with video. My logic is flawless. (Well to be fair it kind of is, video is just a bunch of photographs a second, so it kind of is photography.) Anyway, I’ve made a LIFE HACK VIDEO. But it isn’t like your usual hysterical life hack video with useless tips, this is actually useful!! (ayyyy shots fired) I give you 3 tips for life as a creative person, so feel free to check it out! I hope you enjoy it! Don’t forget to link your creation in the comment section of Johanna’s post ! Monthly Makers is a challenge for anyone who wants to be more creative.  During 2017 we’ll be launching twelve themes – one for every month – to inspire and challenge you. For June the theme is PHOTOGRAPHY and  Johanna  is hosting. Comment on her post here   with a link to your cre...

youtube fave: Sophie Jerrome

Bild
I was just kind of watching Youtube yesterday, and came across Sanne and Rosianna’s video where they recommended a few smaller Youtubers . They mentioned a few people that I already knew about, but Sanne recommended Sophie Jerrome – someone I had never even heard of. And when I went to her channel I kind of felt angry at the world for keeping her videos from me for all this time? I think I fell in love with everything about her and the videos she makes within 30 seconds of the first video I watched. I was obviously drawn to the video with the word “art” in the title first, which is why I started with “put your art on the walls”. AND IT’S SUCH A WONDERFUL VIDEO. Also, considering she starts the video by saying she’s spending all of her time listening to Harry Potter audiobooks, I just couldn’t not love her?? I’ve been listening to the audiobooks pretty much every evening for 7 years (idk actually but something like that). Th...

DIY: Autumnal Golden Wreath

Bild
Today’s DIY comes in video form, where I show you how to make your own golden twig wreath! I’ve made similar things before, but I was going to make a tutorial for school and wanted to make a golden one of these. I actually really like it, so that makes me happy! It’s hanging on the inside of our door now (the gold kind of didn’t go with the outside of our door, where I had planned to hang it) but the light there is so bad so you’ll just get this picture of it hanging on my wall! Lumos had a VERY UNEXPECTED (lol no) cameo in the video. He’s always there when I’m making stuff.  Here’s what it looked like while I was working. Idk I just wanted to show you another screenshot from the video.

Monthly Makers Inspiration - Photography

Bild
As most of you should know by now, I’m part of the crew behind the creative community/challenge called Monthly Makers. We announce a theme every month for people to be inspired by, and just generally try to inspire people to create more. This month, the theme is PHOTOGRAPHY and Johanna is the host. (Which means she’s responsible for the announcement of the theme and collecting the creations for the month, so head on over to her post to read more about how you can participate. (It’s in Swedish though, sorry to all you non-swedes.)) To help you on your way to create something on the theme Photography I thought I’d compile a inspirational post filled with ideas and creations! My best recommendation for anyone who wants to try something new when it comes to photography is to just put a prism in front of the lens! I’ve written a whole post with tips on prism photography for a DSLR , but it doesn’t have to be that complicated.  Before I even got my ...

VIDEO: to paint again

Bild
Things have changed in my life since last time we “spoke”, and I’ve started a course on Youtube and videomaking for Youtube! It started last week, and it’s already so much fun and fits me perfectly as I’m trying to get better from my #summerfromhell. One of the assignments this week was to do some visual storytelling, but the instructions told us to keep it simple so I was like “well I’ll just tell the story of me painting then”. But that video didn’t feel interesting enough for my actual Youtube-channel, so I talked a little bit about how happy I am to have started painting again, and the meaning of creating using your hands. It’s a pretty short one, but I hope you’ll enjoy! This video was also like the first time I really got to use my fancy new camera and film something pretty with it (although it might have been overkill with the depth of field, but meh) which was SO MUCH FUN. Moving the camera around all the tim...
