inspiration monthly makers: imprint

Aska, 2014 by Jessica Andersdotter. Digital double exposure. Aska, 2014.

So the first inspirational word of Monthly Makers this year is imprint/impression or avtryck in Swedish! (Don’t know what Monthly Makers is? Read all about it here!) It’s an exciting word that opens up for a lot of different interpretations! You can make prints using stuff, convey a story about something that has made an impression on you or just do something that ~feels~ like “imprint”. Like you can also make stuff about the way you make an imprint on your surroundings, how your surroundings make an imprint on you and so on. It’s a perfect month to discuss environmental footprints and body image, for example!

Personally I’m thinking that every kind of photograph is some kind of imprint/impression! Just click the pictures to see more and go to the original posts.

There’s something about the double exposure effect (although this is not quite a double exposure, but never mind) that feels very imprint-y to me. Like an exposure making an imprint on another.

And then these with the mirrored effect – you kind of make an imprint on a mirror. It’s a bit of a stretch, but still!

And then just photography I haven’t done anything with!

So that’s kind of where I’m at about this theme! Don’t forget to check out our inspirational board on Pinterest to get more ideas! Oh and I feel like I need to say this: you don’t need to be a DIY:er or crafter to participate in Monthly Makers. As long as you’re within the theme, you can create anything. So please feel free to do some creative writing or singing or cooking or just go out and take some pictures!
