So this year I’ve decided that I’m a Halloween-person. I have always loved Christmas and recently made Easter into a big thing, but Halloween has always just been like “meh”. But suddenly I realised that Halloween can (and will!) include a lot of things that I like. List of great Halloween-y things: Witches Harry Potter Ravens Pumpkins Dark nights Dressing up Magic Spookiness Abandoned houses Castles Ghosts Mysteries Werewolves Full moon I especially like witches and Harry Potter. And ravens. Oh I like it all. Maybe I’ve always been a Halloween-person, but just never realised. To be honest it doesn’t really matter – from now on I am one. So this year is the start of something new, my Halloween-loving life!! I’ve decided to celebrate this with a DIY-collaboration with my dear friend Alicia . Okay, you’re probably confused. Create something out of a box, and then this? But here’s the thing, I thought “okay, create something out of a box, sounds good” but then I was like “maybe I should think outside of the box” and then I made this. Or maybe I thought that houses are boxes. Or I just really didn’t want to create something out of a box this week, who knows. But it still counts!!! Pictures are kind of boxes, aren’t they? That’s the thing with this challenge, a week is kind of a short time to create something based on a material I put on this list over a year ago, and I might not feel like it at all. But as long as I create something and in some way have to use my creativity to fit that thing into the list it’s working in my opinion. It’s still a creative challenge, and I get to create more. Oh and the pictures of the houses I’ve used are part of the Flickr Commons and they’re public domain so...

So a week or so ago I got up at a stupidly early hour with the hope of getting some pictures of foggy morning light. No such luck for me though, as that day was just grey, uninteresting and boring. I took some pictures but they didn’t turn out great, and I’ve been kind of upset ever since. And then this morning my mother woke me up and said “it’s really beautiful outside if you want to take go out into the garden with your camera”. I didn’t just go into the garden. I was out walking for almost two hours. It was so amazing and magical and fantastic and let’s just look at the pictures. I LOVE DAYS LIKE THIS. The other day the most exciting thing ever happened! Almost everyone in the gang behind Monthly Makers – our creative challenge ( read more here ) – had a meetup! I had only met two out of nine before and was very excited as I walked through Gnesta on my way to the train that morning. I mean I even took this EPIC selfie before I left. SO HYPED. I also walked past these amazing stairs. We have those in the lil village I live in now, isn’t that amazing?! Anyway, I got on the train and went all the way to the city and Anna María ‘s office. I was a tiny bit late, so most people were already there as I got there and had started preparing our lunch. Oh and we hugged. So many hugs. Mikaela was totally pro at chopping. I got inspired one day and decided to take pictures of some old dried roses that I had lying around, and it turned out to be some pretty darn usable pictures for my digital art. I have several projects in which I’ve used these pictures, but first off we have these roses of fire! Kinda smouldering and magical but also clean and simple. I really like them. Also they’re way better in a bigger version, so I recommend clicking the pictures to get a larger version! What do you guys think? To create something out of an old piece of clothing was, to say the least, a difficult challenge during a time when I only want to work digitally. But somehow I worked it out! A while ago I bought these really old aprons in lace on Tradera, and the fabric is just so beautiful. So I built myself a little studio – white paper on top of a box in front of a window – and took some pictures to use in my digital stuff. I took some different pictures, I tried it with the fabric all scrunched up and then smooth so that I’d be able to see what looked best in the computer and not have to re-shoot. Turns out the scrunched up ones looked better! Also made this version, but I think I prefer the simpler ones. But I also love fire… I DON’T KNOW. Which ones do you like best? Help me pls. I decided to take a complete day off studying the other day and just do nice things all day. It was great, and turned out to be one of the most relaxing days in a long time. First of all, me and my mother went to get some honey from some local bees! Okay, we didn’t actually get it from the bees themselves, but from the person who has the bees. I’m not friends with any bees, sadly. The honey was SO DELICIOUS. Bees are the best. Seriously, they’re so cute and fluffy and if you ever hate on a bee believing it’s a wasp I will disown you. I’m not kidding. That wasn’t all I did though, as I also got into this creative flow and just sat in my room making stuff all night, which is one of my favourite things. Man, it was just the best day. Nothing beats a nice creative flow. Well, some things might. One thing that might is the pie I made earlier that day! (I’m being modest again.)
